We are delighted to reveal that, for the first time, we will be holding a Fun Run for 5-11 year old children on the day of our event (8th July 2018).
More details to follow but for now here is a look at the exclusive medal design - and there will only be 100 available.
It is very much a Purple Haze for this year's medal and Tshirts!
Our exclusive medal and t shirts proudly carry the Wyvern 60 logo - celebrating 60 years of Wyvern College, the home of our 10K.
Having given everyone golden dragons for the past 4 years, this time you will have a bright shiny silver beast to hang around your neck.
These designs are for 2018 only so don't miss out on the limited edition of 750 and enter now to avoid disappointment!
We are delighted to announce that our 2018 charity is PONIES EDUCATING DIABETICS AND SIBLINGS (PEDS)
Hampshire Riding Therapy Centre is a registered charity dedicated to the provision of equine related therapies for children and adults. With a particular focus on our Ponies Educating Diabetics and Siblings (PEDS) programme children with type 1 diabetes, and their family members, meet here regularly to learn about their condition through working with horses. It’s fun, social, supportive and there’s always a pony ride too.
When hearing that Hampshire Riding Therapy Centre had been chosen as the recipient of this years Wyvern 10K charitable support, Kerie Coutts (Trustee) exclaimed " This is top news . . . 👏👏👏👏👏👏 what a great start to the year"
The financial aid that the charity will gain from the support of the Wyvern 10k runners will have a sizable impact on our organisation, enabling us to fully finance at least one of our PEDS sessions which includes feeding and looking after our horses.

By just entering our race you are contributing towards our donation but if you want to help even more there is the option to add a small amount extra to your entry fee.
Thanks to Masie Stocks for her report from The Dwarf Sports Association (South Central Region) Okehampton Activity Weekend - January 2018
We had a lovely time down at the Manor House hotel in Oakhampton recently; there were a number of craft workshops on offer, but we were mostly interested in all the sports! We tried our hand at ice skating; spending most of our time on the floor, not doing much skating! We all had some very interesting techniques- Lauren was speed walking her way round, Jacob was dragging himself along the floor, and together we were probably only standing for half the time.
We hired out badminton courts, using them for both badminton and boccia (a disability sport which we compete in). Elaine thrashed us all with her boccia skills. Although we all took a turn trying to defeat her, no one could challenge the master! We also had a game of hockey using our new equipment, but the teams were hardly fair… not that I’m bitter at all by the fact that I lost. On the last day, we tried our hand at rifle shooting and also flat green indoor bowls, which only some of us got the hang of!
We all had a great weekend away, and would like to thank the Wyvern 10k runners last summer, for being able to raise the money to be able to buy our region their own set of boccia equipment and hockey sticks, that will be greatly used! Thank you!
A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR READERS!
The 2018 Wyvern 10K is now ready for your entry.
We’d love to see our previous runners return and bring new with them.
We did sell out in 2017 even faster than 2016 – so our advice is don't hang about!
All the details can be found on the race website www.wyvern10k.co.uk. And you can enter by following the links on the entry page or by going to directly to the Athlinks Entry Site.
We are delighted to be able to announce that thanks to the generosity of our runners, sponsors and stallholders, we have been able to make a donation of £1500 our 2017 partner charity – the Dwarf Sports Association South. In additional – recognizing their support for the race over the past 6 years- we have given a further £500 to the Eastleigh Lion’s Chairman’s Charity 2017 - Simon Says.
Thank you to everyone that contributed to these fantastic amounts. It is great to know that the benefit of the Wyvern 10K goes way beyond the event day.
We will be announcing our 2018 charity in the next month and entries for our 2018 event on, July 8th, will open in early January.

We had some great food and drink available this year. If you want more here are some links to our catering friends:
No we are not afraid to admit that we do look to other event for inspiration on how we can develop the Wyvern 10K. One of these has always been the Hurlsey 10K.
It is, rightfully, a very popular fixture in September (this year Sunday 17th). A beautiful course, fantastic atmosphere – check out the website for some great drone footage that shows the start.
Entries are open but don’t hang about. Places usually sell out well before event day.
