Yes - from today you can get yourself registered for this year's Wyvern 10K Festival.
The date of this year's event is Sunday 12th July 2020.
There may be a few tweaks to the route in the college but the same road route awaits. Starting time for the 10K is 9am, with our multi-distance Fun Run starting at around 10.45.
This year is an Olympic one - the third since we started. So look our for some suitably inspired mementos - more details to follow soon.

For the first time this year we are giving you the opportunity to get you number before event day. This is for both the 10K and the Fun Run.
PLEASE REMEMBER - YOU CAN STILL GET YOUR NUMBER ON THE DAY from 7.30 and we will make sure everyone gets their number on time.

Just to note - for the early collection we will have only 1 or 2 people on hand so bear with us, we'll serve everyone as quickly as we can.
If you do pick your number up on these days, please don't leave it too late to arrive on the actual event day. Parking is limited and we can't guarantee you will be able to park onsite.

Just to clarify - we do not allow "in ear" earphones at the Wyvern 10K - because it stops runners being able to hear our marshals and any vehicles that might be on the route. Safety is always the priority.
However we will allow runners to use bone conducting devices provided that they do not cover ear holes in any way. We would stop any runner that we felt still had their ears "impeded" regardless of the type of earphones.
Can we just talk about team entries for a moment?
When you are entering as a member of a UKA club, please can you look for your team carefully on the drop down? Now sometimes it might take a while for the selection to load but we can assure you that every UKA registered team should be on there - unless you are a very new club (then get in contact). It is important that you enter under the official UKA title for your club that corresponds with your gender.
So let's use a local example: Hedge End Running Club Female would be the correct way to enter - and as you start to type Hedge End...that option should appear. However if you try HERC or Hedgeend it will not - that is because the abbreviation isn't the UKA registered name.
If you are a member of a non-UKA team please can you make sure that you all agree on that team name - if you don't we can get multiple variations and it's hard for us to make sure you are all together.
Team Captains - the first person to enter from a club or team is designated by the system to be the team captain.....but do not fear. This can be changed by dropping us an email.
Our fantastic administrator, Simon from EMIT, does his best to tidy up club and team names but hopefully we can reduce his workload by following the advice above. Thanks everyone.
This year we are offering a rather unique Fun Run event to encourage young runners everywhere to come and be part of this year's Wyvern 10K Festival.
Our Fun Run, taking place within the college grounds, will offer the option of three different distances - depending on the age of the runner.
1 LAP - 1 MILE FOR 4-7 YEARS
2 LAP - 2 MILES FOR 8-11 YEARS
3 LAP 5K (3.25 MILES) FOR 12-15 YEARS
All runners will receive a personal time and a Wyvern 10K Festival medal.
Runs start after the 10K is complete - approximately 10.45.
There will be prizes for the first girl and first boy home for each distance.
Entry fee for all distances is £6.00 and you can enter online via the festival website or Chronotrack. https://register.chronotrack.com/r/47006
We are excited to reveal this year's designs for the
Wyvern 10K Festival medal and t-shirt.
No surprise that our new, shiny logo is centre stage but we hope you will also like the "stand out" colour of the shirt. We want you to be seen when you are on those training runs.
As with all our medal/shirt combos, this a a one year only design - so make sure you enter soon and avoid the disappointment of missing out on a future collector's item.
Our Fun Run runners will receive the same medal....but more about that very soon.

The great news is that we are finally open for entry!
Entry prices are same as 2018 and we are still offering a special rate for out 15-18 year runners.

Hello to all our readers - we hope you've all had a good Christmas.
Entries for the 2019 Wyvern 10K will open in early January, however, before then we have a few big announcements.
We have taken the decision to start the 2019 10K at 9 AM – 1 hour early than previous years.
We know from our online poll that a majority were in favour and there were many other good reasons for taking the decision to try a 9AM start. We realise that this might mean that those of you who travel to the event will have to set out earlier but we hope you can still be with us.
You will also notice that we have a new race logo and that it says the WYVERN 10K FESTIVAL. This is because we are planning a development of our 2018 Fun Run - a second event on the same day allowing young runners to compete in a multi -distance run .It extends our celebration of running, in the local community and beyond, and given the wonderful atmosphere that we have in, our Runners Village and out on the course, we want to promote and enhance a festival spirit.
We will let you know when we are open for entries. Meantime we wish you all a very happy and healthy new year.
